Layla, my hunting labrador retriever’s, first duck hunt

Layla, my hunting labrador, is 6 months old and on her first duck hunt. I am training her myself, which means training has to be done around my busy schedule. The retrieve shown in the video was shot by my brother and was actually her second retrieve of the day. She had never seen a duck before this hunt but had only retrieved bumpers and dead doves. She didn’t see this duck fall so I got out of the blind and sent her on a ”dead bird” blind. She is obviously inexperienced, but I was very pleased with her on her first hunt. She made one other retrieve after the one in the video for a total of three on her first hunt! Not bad for 6 months old and having never seen a duck before!
